Civil society is vital to the strength of the American republic, yet its impact is often constrained by limited resources. Giovanni Del Piero works to alleviate such constraints. As an Associate at AmPhil, Del Piero helps non-profits meet their fundraising goals. From researching and writing grants to analyzing data, his role seeks to support the growth of American civil society.
Del Piero views AmPhil’s work as important for America’s long-term flourishing. In his words, AmPhil’s efforts help key civic associations “stay operational, which in turn leads to a more prosperous and united America.” Del Piero expresses gratitude for the opportunity to work alongside others who share his vision for empowering conservative non-profits.
To help bring this vision to life, Del Piero relies greatly on his capacity for research, something that he cultivated during his time as a Shaftesbury Fellow in 2023. Del Piero is thankful that the Fellowship deepened his appreciation of religious liberty and grew his analytical skills.
In his spare time, Del Piero enjoys reading and writing. He publishes pieces on his Substack titled The Poorly Illumined, where he covers topics related to Eastern Orthodoxy, theology, and political philosophy.
