Sir Roger Scruton: An Interview with Mark Dooley

An Interview response to Roger Scruton, Conservatism: An Invitation to the Great Tradition

RWR Scruton - Reading Wheel Review

Each month the Reading Wheel Review will typically feature a podcast-style interview with the author or scholar related to our featured book. This month we are pleased to have Dr. Mark Dooley join us to discuss the work of the late Sir Roger Scruton. Mark is an Irish philosopher who has the honor of being Sir Roger’s literary executor. He is the author or editor of several books related to Sir Roger’s life and legacy including an intellectual biography, Roger Scruton: The Philosopher on Dover Beach. The second edition this work is due out this year from Bloomsbury.

Physical books are at once a conduit for conveying complex and well-developed ideas and an artifact of the time and place from which they come. Each month the Reading Wheel Review (RWR) will select one book to engage and then each week we will publish a different engagement with that text, typically a review, an excerpt, a substantively related essay, or an interview with the author or a figure who works in the field represented by the book we’ve selected. We look forward to sustained engagement with a variety of books, both new and old, as we launch and grow the RWR. Sign up to keep connected.
