Jacob Wolf, PhD

RESEARCH FELLOW

Jacob Wolf is a research fellow at the Center for Religion, Culture, & Democracy. He is director of the Program in American Civilization and assistant professor of politics at the University of Austin (UATX). He received his PhD in political science from Boston College, where he concentrated in American politics and the history of political philosophy. He was previously the 2020–2021 John and Daria Barry Postdoctoral Fellow in the James Madison Program at Princeton University. His scholarly research pertains to religion and politics, America’s social and political institutions, and political thought and literature. His scholarly writing has appeared in Perspectives on Political ScienceThe Political Science Reviewer, and Interpretation, and his popular writing has appeared in Modern AgeThe Public DiscourseLaw & Liberty, and VoegelinView. He lives outside Austin, Texas, with his wife, Alexandra, and his two dogs, Bella and Cleo, where he plays board games, lifts weights, and hikes in the Texas hill country in his (almost nonexistent) spare time.
